In December of 2005, Jeremy Hammers, General Manager of HCI, stumbled upon an article that described a Purple Heart Memorial that has been designed and constructed in Harrison, Ohio. With the help of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 423, Colorado Springs, the Purple Heart Memorial idea would soon become an honored addition to the new HCI office. located within the Claremont Business Park.
Robert D. Hammers, father of Steve and Dave Hammers and grandfather of Jeremy Hammers, proudly served as a Marine during the Korean War. This memorial has been dedicated to Robert, to all of the men and women who have, and are currently serving the United State of America. The memorial is the Hammers way of giving thanks to our soldiers, and though it will never fulfill the sincere gratitude they would like to express. It does symbolize the respect they will always have for them.
